Welcome to MVP Support

Live the life you imagined

About Us

We work with adults who have extra support needs, both at home and out in the community.

What would you like to do?….a cup of tea or some help with the housework….. shopping or getting out for a walk……attending a class or visiting an exhibition……it's your choice!

Sometimes people think of us as P.A.s, at other times we’re Support Workers or Carers…but whatever the job title, we’re always there where you need us.

Our Story

IMG-20191121-WA0000_edited_edited.jpg

My uncle Michael Venus has been a huge inspiration throughout the development of MVP Support. Michael was born with Downs Syndrome but to our family he was just our Michael - a little man with a big heart and a massive personality.

Michael was supported through his adult life by some fantastic support workers -  not only did they make a difference to his life, they also helped his parents get the respite they needed.

Michael sadly passed away in 2011 and I realised I wanted to make a positive difference to the lives of other adults with additional support needs .....and Michael Venus Personal Support was born.

Starting this small business has been an incredible journey so far and I feel privileged to work alongside staff who share the same passion as me.

Our Services

We are locally based in the north east and we provide support in the community for adults with a wide range of mental health issues and learning/physical disabilities.

We offer a flexible, person centred approach, supporting individuals to remain in control of their everyday lives, whilst being encouraged to safely explore new opportunities.

MVP Support prides itself on being a small business with a big passion for making positive differences in people's lives.

Our team

The MVP Support Team has the skills and experience to give you the support you need. We all have enhanced DBS checks. Staff have their own vehicles, with full clean driving licences and business insurance.

We undertake regular staff training, including safeguarding, equality and diversity and first aid.

Our rates

At MVP Support we believe everyone is an individual so our rates reflect that. Our rates are flexible and vary depending on the level of support required; starting from £12.50 per hour.

Would you like to find out more?

Please feel free to get in touch and one of our friendly staff members will have a chat on the phone to tell you a little more about us and find out a little about you.

If you’re interested to meet up, we will then arrange a home visit at a time to suit you, where we’ll ask some questions to help us build a profile of you and your support needs. This will involve discovering your likes and dislikes and where, when and how you would like to be supported. It’s also a chance for you to ask us any questions.

We would then decide together what team member is best suited to you and arrange a no obligation get together.

Sarah

I have a background in mental health support. I have worked in the NHS and the voluntary sector. I have spent a lot of time in community garden projects so I'm always happy to be outdoors. I enjoy meeting new people and trying different things.

Phil

My background is warehousing, which I have done nearly all my life. I have been doing the job I am doing now for nearly five years and I wish I had done it years ago. It is a great satisfaction when you have been with someone for nearly a day and they say thank you for what you have done for them in that day. I love a challenge and every day is a challenge - no two days are the same. Love the outdoors and supporting clients.

Testimonials

"Having used the services of MVP for some time we really appreciate the dedication and organisation that the staff bring in order to provide a top class service that we enjoyed. Our daughter always looked forward to meeting her PA's. She was treated with respect and dignity and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. We were completely confident leaving her in their care. In the background the staff were managed by Ashleigh who was always available if we needed to change something. Nothing was too much trouble and communication with us was always prompt and efficient. A top class service."

Steve (Durham)

" I really enjoy meeting with my PA every week and doing the things I enjoy. She might be rubbish at go karting but she is a great PA and we always have a laugh ".

Dale (Consett)

"MVP Support gives me the freedom I need to do the things I enjoy. Having their support means I get to fulfil my passion for walking with someone I trust. Not only does it benefit me but my Guide Dog Izzy gets the free run she needs and loves. I enjoy the social aspect of the support I receive and have built a good rapport with the staff. We always have lots to talk about and laughter is always part of our time together. Staff not only support with my hobbies but with day to day life, which without them would be overwhelming. MVP staff have been part of my life for years and their support is second to none. I would highly recommend MVP Support, as their values and dedication are priceless."
